About The Store

At Frugal Decor, we like to keep it simple. We ask that you email pictures of what you would like to consign to frugaldecorasheville@gmail.com and include your name and phone number. Someone will contact you within 24-48 hours and let you know what items can be taken. The contract term is 4 months with the price dropping 10% per month up to three times. For items over $1000, the drop percentage is less. If any items are unsold at the end of 4 months, we will always call you to see if you would like to drop the price, donate or pick up. Our contract is a simple one page document. Pickup is available through our recommended moving services. These are folks we use regularly and will be very careful with your furniture. We ask that you notify us immediately if your address or phone number changes. Consignment checks are issued by the 10th of the following month. We pride ourselves on delivering the best customer experience around. Please remember that all consignment items must be in good condition with no tears or stains and free of pet hair or odors. We look forward to serving you.

Meet Sheila

I’m a local who attended AC Reynolds and Asheville High School where most of my energy was spent twirling a baton as a majorette. I still love sequins. My college years were spent at NC State and Western Carolina University where I studied engineering, special education, and accounting. I had just enough engineering to make me dangerous which would come in handy later in my career. I worked several years for my Dad at his car dealership as his comptroller and later as a dealer. After he retired, we started dabbling in furniture and eventually opened Rudy’s Wholesale Furniture Warehouse. I was always being asked where people could sell their used furniture. Fast forward and Frugal Decor and More opened in 2010 to help folks re-home their gently used furniture and accessories. In 2013, I started playing around with chalk paint . It became a passion. We are now proud retailers of General Finishes Paint & Stain as well as Debi’s Design Gallery DIY Paint, and Iron Orchid Designs. There are so many amazing possibilities when it comes to revitalizing tired pieces. I teach classes to help you learn to do just that.

In my spare time, I enjoy painting furniture, quilting, playing golf, and spending time with my precious grandsons. I also served on the Eblen Charities Board of Directors for 30 years.
